This is the menu outside a Thai restaurant today in Chapel Street, Melbourne.
I was amazed to discover that a Phat Thai Chick is only AU$8.50. Cheaper surely than in Thailand! I have friends in Europe who can no doubt confirm that for me.

Just had to comment on this. There has been an argument for many years regarding Australia wanting to become a republic, and no longer have the Queen as head of state and be “governed” by the mother country. Quite ironic then, that unlike the mother country, Australians have a national holiday to celebrate the Queen’s birthday. Perhaps this explains why the recent referendums have failed to turn Australia into a republic. Not because they want to retain the Queen, but more like they don’t want to have to give up a public holiday. LOL. It’s only a matter of time though I’m sure, before Australia becomes a republic. And why not!
